Journey Together

We believe in the transformative power of pilgrimage — a journey to a place made sacred by Jesus or his followers, or by the faithful witness of those who have gone before us. Pilgrimage takes us out of our routines and places us shoulder to shoulder with other men, learning together, serving together, and deepening our relationship with God.

Our Vision

Pilgrimage is not just travel. It’s an intentional step away from the ordinary in order to experience God in new places and through new stories. These shared journeys create space for:

  • Deeper Relationships — time together on the road strengthens bonds of friendship and trust.
  • Shared Learning — visiting historic and sacred places confronts us with lessons that shape our faith and discipleship.
  • Spiritual Transformation — stepping into the stories of others opens us to repentance, healing, and renewal.
  • Service — engaging with ministries and communities reminds us that pilgrimage is not only about what we receive, but how we give ourselves away.

Past Experiences

Pilgrimage has long been a part of the rhythm of Chicago Fellowship. Past trips have included:

  • Honduras — partnering with local ministries and serving communities in need.
  • Civil Rights Tours — traveling through the American South to learn the stories of the Civil Rights Movement and engaging the Sankofa framework of “looking backward to move forward.”
  • Fly-Fishing Retreats — where creation, quiet, and camaraderie become a context for spiritual reflection and rest.

Looking Ahead

Each year, we plan one pilgrimage designed to stretch us, teach us, and bind us together more closely in Christ. The destination changes, but the purpose is the same: to encounter God through the journey and through one another.
